Bradford White · Heat pump RE2H (-1NCWT models)
Bradford White Heat pump RE2H (-1NCWT models) error code FI
What it means
Control checks to ensure evaporator superheat is <20°F AND the EEV position is <450 after 30 minutes of run time. If outside these limits, this provides an early indication of a refrigerant leak. (Note: Target superheat is generally 10°F, and EEV generally operates at a position much lower than 450.)
The manual says the control must detect this 10 time(s) before the code is displayed.
What Bradford White says to do
These steps involve electrical testing or parts replacement. Bradford White's manuals tell owners to leave that work to a qualified service technician.
Probable refrigerant leak. Find and Repair. Check T3a, T3b, T5 sensor mounting, wiring and resistance. Check EEV wiring at control, coil placement, and operation.
